Success for EARTH-2030 – Naousa Leads the Way Toward a Green and Digital Future
Under the motto “We adapt to Climate Change… we change too!”, the Heroic City of Naousa hosted the three-day international conference EARTH-2030, held from April 4 to 6, 2025, as part of the European CERV – Town Twinning program.
The conference, organized by the Institute for Promotion and Certification of Agri-food Products (iAgroCert), brought together 268 participants from five European countries (Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, and Spain), with the aim of exchanging best practices and fostering cooperation around the challenges of climate change, sustainable food systems, and the digital transition.
The event began with a warm welcome and presentations of sustainability actions from the participating cities. Held at the ERIA Industrial Heritage Center, the conference focused on sustainable nutrition and zero-waste solutions. European policies such as the “Farm to Fork” Strategy were showcased, while thematic presentations and workshops were conducted on circular economy, digital innovation, and youth engagement. Discussions also covered topics like fair access to technology and data for addressing climate change, with a special focus on rural and vulnerable communities.
EARTH-2030 continued with a cultural tour of Naousa and culminated in a traditional meal and celebration at Agios Nikolaos, reinforcing the connection between culture and environmental awareness. Participants departed with enhanced knowledge, new collaborations, and a stronger sense of European identity.
Naousa proved in practice that a small city can become a pioneer in addressing key European challenges, strengthening the municipality’s role as a hub of innovation and connectivity.
